About IIT Mandi

The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi is one among the eighth newer second generation of IITs. IIT Mandi is a research university now located in Kamand Valley, Mandi city in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. IIT Mandi's campus (about 14 km from Mandi) is on the left bank of the Uhl River at Kamand and Salgi villages. There is great variation in the climatic conditions of Himachal due to extreme variation in elevation. The climate varies from hot and sub-humid tropical in the southern tracts to cold, alpine and glacial in the northern and eastern mountain ranges with more elevation. Mandi has an average elevation of 1044 meters (3425 feet) and is situated on the banks of Beas. Mandi town falls in the lower most climatic zone of the Himalayas. These regions enjoys a wet-sub temperate climate of the foot hills (450-900 meters) as against the dry-cold alpine climate with snowfall at higher altitudes (2400-4800 meters). Average annual rainfall of Mandi is 1380 mm. Since its inception the institute has been involved with various Research and Development (R&D) projects, the institute has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with many International and National universities, Companies, Research Centres, Organizations. The institute became an IIT under The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011, with the intention to expand the reach and to enhance the quality of technical education in the country. The Act was passed in the Lok Sabha on 24 March 2011 and by the Rajya Sabha on 30 April 2012.

About Anusandhan - 2.O

Anusandhan is a fair of multidisciplinary research and innovation of IIT Mandi, which includes Engineering & Technology (Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computing and Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Robotics, IKSMHA, Computer science, and AI&ML), Basic Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and Environmental sciences), Medical Science (Healthcare, Mental health, Physiology, and Medicine), Management and Humanities & Social Sciences (Economics, Literature, History, Sociology, Translation Studies, and Psychology) research, that provide participants to present and discuss their ideas among the research community and related experts in their domains. The Fair aims to open a pathway for collaborative research and innovative ideas among the research community at an international level for the welfare of society and sustainable development of resources. The Fair provides an opportunity for students, scholars, experts, faculties, and industries to come together under a single roof for the nation’s development through the paths of ongoing research in variegated streams, making it a platform of large possibilities for societal welfare and policy making.

Registration fee for participants

At least one author of each accepted abstract/full-length paper must register for the submitted work to be presented in the proceedings. Registration fees include hostel accommodation (17th-19th June), food (breakfast, lunch, snacks, conference refreshments and dinner) during conference days (18-19th June), conference gala-dinner, and registration kit:

Participants will be asked to submit their accommodation preferences while submitting their registration forms. Hostel accommodation is complementary to the registration fee (for all registrations). As we have a limited number of guest rooms, only a few people can be accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Venue & Travel

Anusandhan 2.O will be held at the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) from 18th-19th June 2024. Mandi is very well connected through roads from Delhi and Chandigarh. Public transport of Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana roadways ply their buses on this route. Private luxury buses are readily available to travel on this route through the road. Most of the buses operate during night and reach Mandi early in the morning. One may easily hire a car from Delhi & Chandigarh to reach Mandi. Distance & average journey time from major cities to Mandi via road:

  • Delhi : 430 Km (8.5 hrs)
  • Chandigarh : 185 Km (04 hrs)
  • Ambala : 235 Km (05 hrs)
  • Ropar : 140 Km (03 hrs)

Local/ city transport: IIT Mandi North campus is approximately 23 Km from Mandi bus stand. It takes 40-45 minutes to reach IIT Mandi campus from Mandi bus stand Himachal roadways, private buses & cars on rent are available to travel from Mandi bus terminal to Kamand or Salgi village. The buses normally ply during day time on regular intervals. Cars on rent are available from outside of Mandi bus station round the clock. Normal cab charges from Mandi bus stand to campus is between 800 to 1000 Rs.

Institute tranport service: Visitors/ Guests may request to book a car/cab from the institute. The service is subject to availability of vehicles.
