Amidst new waves of development, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi is aiming new heights with its vision, “To be a leader in science and technology education, knowledge creation and innovation, in an India marching towards a just, inclusive and sustainable society’’. IIT Mandi is continuously nurturing new avenues for promotion of research and innovation. It has given a launching pad to Society for Collaborative Research and Innovation (SCRI) which aims at providing a collaborative platform for extensive, effective and sustainable research and innovations. SCRI is a platform to provide good opportunities for students of any field or Discipline and it gives exposures to Interdisciplinary Research areas.
❖ Hold informative interactions and discussions with stalwarts in the field of education,science,
technology, social sciences, etc
❖ Create a conducive society for redressal of research-related grievances, aspirations, and alternative
funding.
❖ Organize some events for exhibition and demonstration in research, related to
epistemological enhancement, innovation, etc.
❖ Hold workshops regarding Research Writing, Research methods, Literature Review,
Choosing a research gap and topic, Citations, Digital access to Libraries, etc.
❖ Create and inspire a pool of future researchers within IIT Mandi.
❖ Bring in third-party funding and institutional collaborations to enhance the research atmosphere
holistically.
❖ Increase the exposure to Interdisciplinary research areas.
❖ Celebrate important days like Science/Language/Engineering/Humanities days in close coordination with
other societies of Gymkhana.
SCRI and Mathworks Inc. organised Matlab Workshop on 17th November, 2018 @ SC-NKN. This was a one day workshop which was conducted by officials from MathWorks. Certificate were also provided to participants of the workshop by Mathworks Inc. For more info click here.

On 8th August Thursday the SCRI club delivered an introduction session for the B.Tech First Yearites.
An informative lecture was given by Dr. Patrick Das Gupta on gravitational waves, giving an insight to all new vision of exploring universe.
Photography and Movie Club in collaboration with SCRI presents Technical Talk Show- a series where the experiences and overall opinions of IIT Mandi faculty and student achievers will be captured. We have released our first episode which is Interaction with Dr. Ramesh Orunganti where he shares his views on current education systems, his experiences abroad and his visions for the future.We will slowly release episodes with all faculty and student achievers.
The day was celebrated with “Excite Us with Science” competition where students of IIT Mandi presented us with exciting scientific research conducted at IIT Mandi in a 3 minutes time . Dr Timothy A. Gonsalves was scrutinised the performance of all the participants the chief guest. He inspired the audience with the glorified message on how science has been able to alter our lives for a better future. Dr. Viswanathan, Dr. Bindu and Dr. Pooja were the judges. Special thanks to faculty members & respected judges for taking out time from their busy schedule.
